The (insurmountably happy) Graduate
Early October seems a little late to graduate (especially since I have already been knee-deep immersed in postgraduate studies at that point). Nevertheless, I boarded the Hogwarts Express, ehm, the train to London and met up with K and A in the city. And K's parents. From there we took the early train to Cambridge on graduation day to make the most of our experience.
The morning saw us reuniting and catching up with friends and their families. It is hard to believe that it has already been three months since most of us saw each us. We then headed out for lunch at Doubletree hotel which was surprisingly good.
I had the salmon with a rocket, pesto and Parmesan salad.
Thankfully, there was just the right amount of wind making us look like someone right out of a catalogue.
We were quite the tourist magnet I can tell you.
Eventually, we headed to our ceremony and found our seats brimming with excitement and nerves. Because you really do not want to be the person who fell on stage.
You can't tell from that picture but I actually made it up and down without a hitch. On heels. Slightly shaking. That's a huge accomplishment in my book.
What else was there left to do than enjoying our after ceremony celebrations. For one last night we let loose upon Cambridge before taking the first train in the morning back to London. Asking ourselves how the day could have passed so quickly. But mostly just fighting to keep our eyes open long enough to get home and into bed.

After lunch we finally were able to collect our gowns. Having three hours until the actual graduation ceremony and nothing else to do we ran around town snapping pictures of us with beautiful historic Cambridge as a backdrop.
